Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol vs Skyfall (Part 1)

Dear Guys,

I hope I don't bore you guys with my posts. Now, I would like to talk about 2 of my spy action favorite movies. Even though in the tittle I use vs. It doesn't mean I prefer one to the other. I just want to point that both movies have their good and bad sides. But before that, I would like to tell that there will be spoiler (But I believe many of you have already seen the movie).

First I would like to talk about Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol (I would simplify it with just Ghotocol). It's a pity I never watch Ghotocol in the cinema. I just found about Ghotocol months later (after Avengers) and watch it on DVD when I were at Batam. I already know the spoiler about Ghotocol so there's no surprise there. Even though I already know the story, it still impressed me with the actings and actions. My favorite actor absolutely Jeremy Renner. He blows me with his superb actings. It is very different from Avengers. You can get the vibe someone tortured and angst written all over him. For you who wonder what angst mean, it's your homework. LOL. I love the part when the William Brandt (Jeremy Renner) meet with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) until the car crashed and submerged into the river. The moment you see that Ethan ask for pen instead handshakes with Brandt made you realize that there will be some drama between them.

I also love the part when they try to double Moreau, Wilstorm until Ethan confront him about his real status as agent. To be honest, I wonder whether Secretary give Brandt chief analyst position because of his ability or guilt for lying to him about Julia death. For now, I will settled with his ability because of his ability like facial recognition program and great if not photographic memory.  But, it's not just Brandt that I love (even though he is the most) but also Tom Cruise, Paula Patton, Simon Peg, etc.

But unfortunately like all movies, even Mission Impossible cannot be perfect. There's some scenes that I think is not important like Indian scenes. Not that it was not nice seeing Brandt jump and Jane seduce the guy. Seeing that Jane was too late with the code, it could be replace with some meaningful action that impact the story and make the final scene climatic. And the final battle itself between Ethan and Cobalt, was not that great. It feels like it lack something that Dark Knight Rises had, but I have yet pinpoint it. And final conversation between Ethan and Brandt about Julia look a little simple. I mean Brandt quit being Field Agent and feeling guilty for 3 years and just from some sentences with Ethan could make Brandt join Field Agent again. It contradict Brandt personality as someone tortured and introverted. Make you wonder what will happen in Mission Impossible 5. No doubts, there will be one with Brandt in it.

Anyway, overall I love Mission Impossible : Ghost Protocol. Congratulations for all the staffs who make it. My review is solely my opinion. Hope I don't offense anyone with my posts. If someone feel offense, I apologize (no offense intended).

Fan Fiction

Dear guys,

It have been a very very long time since my last post. Like I said before, I love books. But more importantly I love story. Lately I love to read fan fiction. I love to read fan fiction about X Files, Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, Franklin and Bash, Scrubs, Avengers, Dark Knight, etc. These fan fiction writers are very great. They are very passionate with their writings even though they don't own them. Congratulations and thank you for all these great writers. I respect the producer, director, actors, voice actors, writers, etc who make all the TV shows, movie, anime, game, novel, etc. Without them, we won't have many great  story. But, we have to admit that they have limitations with what they have and what they present. Off course sometimes, it doesn't enough. That's why fan fiction exist. I know there's many people that don't like fan fiction and the controversy. But, I won't talk about it right now. What I want to say is for people who love story but never read fan fiction. I suggest for all of you to read it right now. I won't say that all fan fiction is good. Some are very bad, but many are very touching. Sometimes, I found myself crying when I was reading particular fan fiction. It was so sad that I find it affects me very much.

Famous site for fan fiction is www.fanfiction.net, www.archieveofourown.org. and other specific fan fiction site like Mulder torture (fan fiction about physical, emotional torture that Mulder experience), JD (John Dorian) angst (the same like mulder torture but for JD from scrubs), and many others. Please try it and review the story. It would encourage them to finish the story. Once again, please give it try, everyone.

Hello Guys,

It's been a very long time since my last post. I've been busy all this time. Recently, I found a very interesting website. It sold online books written by independent authors and publishers (including famous authors) with competitive price if not cheaper. What's more interesting is the site let you sample first (usually 15 - 60%). So, you won't buy the books you didn't like. Not to mention, there's also many great free books published. I've just bought three online books from this site and very satisfied with it. I recommend this site for all of books lover. Have a nice fun ^^

Change Your Fate

Dear Guys, 

Long time no see. I hope all of you are very well. Sudah lama sekali saya tidak memasukkan posting-an yang baru. Kebetulan beberapa waktu yang lalu, saya sempat bertemu dengan seseorang. Kami berdua saling berdiskusi mengenai banyak hal. Salah satunya adalah mengenai "Change Your Fate". Dia memberikan pandangan yang sangat menarik bahwa manusia dapat mengubah takdirnya selama orang tersebut meyakini bahwa dia BISA dan MAU melakukannya. Dia mengatakan bahwa tidak peduli seperti apa masa lalu dan penyesalan yang dimiliki orang tersebut, asalkan dia mau mengubah sikap dan pemikirannya maka dia akan dapat mengubah takdirnya. Awalnya saya merasa sanksi dengan perkataan tersebut. Selama ini saya selalu berpikir bahwa hidup manusia sudah digariskan. Ada yang sukses, ada  yang gagal, ada yang pintar, ada yang bodoh, ada yang kaya, ada yang miskin, dst. Saya berpikir bahwa beberapa orang memang ditakdirkan harus menjadi seorang dokter, pengacara, guru, businessman, tentara, dst. 

Tapi itu tidak-lah benar. Manusia merupakan makhluk istimewa ciptaan Tuhan. Tuhan memberikan kepada manusia kebijaksanaan, akal budi, dan free will untuk menentukan masa depannya. Tidak peduli seberapa besar masalah yang kita hadapi, selama kita mau berusaha, pasti akan ada jalan keluar. Kadang kala, "pintu" tersebut, tidak dapat langsung terlihat oleh mata. Dan pada saat-saat tersebut, kita merasa putus asa dan menemui kebuntuan. Namun, bukan berarti "pintu" tersebut tidak ada. Sering kali kita hanya fokus terhadap kesedihan, kekecewaan, dan permasalahan kita; dan bukannya kepada "how we can solve the problem". So, we keep thinking the same thing, saying the same thing, and the same problem keep happening. Lingkaran in terus berlanjut hingga akhirnya kita merasa sudah tidak ada harapan lagi dan akhirnya "broke". 

But, that's not correct. Beberapa tokoh terkenal berulang kali menyatakan bahwa manusia bisa mengubah nasibnya. Siapapun dia. Yang diperlukan hanyalah tekad, kemauan, dan keyakinan bahwa dia pasti BISA.  Cara yang paling mudah untuk mengubah nasib adalah dengan memulainya dari diri kita sendiri. Tidak ada gunanya mencoba untuk mengubah sesuatu yang tidak dapat kita ubah. Kita harus mengakui bahwa hidup ini tidak adil dan tidak akan pernah adil. Tapi kita dapat mengubah diri kita sendiri ke arah yang lebih baik dengan mengubah sikap kita, perilaku kita, pemikiran kita, tindakan kita, dll ke arah yang lebih baik. Maka dengan sendirinya, hidup kita akan menjadi lebih baik. And in the end, we will change our fate.

My Books

Berhubung beberapa hari ini saya pergi ke Gramedia untuk membeli buku (bukan promosi Gramedia, tapi kalau ada staf Gramedia yang baca, boleh donk dikasih komisi. Hehe. LOL ^^). Jadi, saya terpikir untuk sharing sedikit mengenai hobi saya dalam berbelanja dan mengkoleksi buku. Bisa dibilang bahwa mengkoleksi dan membaca buku merupakan hobi saya yang paling utama (lantaran menguras kocek yang paling besar ^^). Namun, bukan sembarang buku yang saya koleksi. Karena saya senang mempelajari bahasa Jepang, maka buku2 pelajaran bahasa Jepang bisa dikatakan cukup komplit dalam lemari saya. Selain itu, saya juga menyukai buku2 pengembangan diri dan terutama karena saya sendiri lulusan fakultas psikologi. So, mayoritas buku2 saya berkisar tentang psikologi dan pengembangan diri. Last but not least, saya sangat menyukai novel2 thriller, terutama legal thriller. So, bagi teman2 yang memiliki rekomendasi atau promosi novel legal thriller yang bagus; boleh diinformasikan kepada saya ^^. 

Setelah mengadakan pembenahan kamar dan mengumpulkan semua buku2 saya, total terdapat 3,5 baris lemari buku dengan lebar per barisnya sekitar 1 meter (belum termasuk komik kepunyaan saya dan adik saya) yang menyita 1 lemari besar lainnya. Hehe (I'm book maniacs and my sister comic maniacs) ^^. Namun, tidak semua buku disimpan di lemari tersebut, beberapa buku saya berikan kepada orang terdekat yang memang menyukai buku tersebut. So, buku2 tersebut tidak hanya sekedar menjadi pajangan dan menganggur di lemari (walaupun sebagian besar masih mengantri untuk minta dibaca. LOL). 

I really loved books.  So, setiap kali Gramedia  mengadakan diskon buku 30%, 20%, atau bazar buku murah, sebisa mungkin saya pasti datang dan berburu buku murah. Wuaaaaaaa ^^^^^^ (kegirangan karena buku murah bertebaran). Bila sudah begitu, pasti saya bisa lupa waktu (tenang, bukan lupa diri ^^) dan berjam-jam di Gramedia (mudah2an staf di Gramedia gak bosan2nya ketemu terus dengan saya) Hehe ^^. Tapi pembelian buku tidak hanya terbatas di Gramedia, beberapa kali saya juga membeli buku dari online book store untuk buku-buku lama yang sudah tidak ada di Gramedia dan ketika dompet sedang "bocor". Haha ^^. 

Hobi dan kesukaan ini cukup menguras budget saya sehingga kadang kala saya mencari ebook yang gratisan di internet. Meskipun gratisan, seringkali isi dari ebook tersebut sangat berkualitas dan tidak kalah dari yang berbayar. So, collecting books is not really impossible and expensive. It was very easy, simple, and possible for everyone. Not to mention, reading is very important for all of us (asal jangan buku pornografi yah ^^).

Petition for the Recognition and Protection of JYJ’s Legal and Human Rights

Bagi para penggemar JYJ (DBSK), saat ini sedang diadakan petisi oleh The JYJ Files untuk membantu JYJ mendapatkan hak asasinya. Seperti yang kita ketahui saat ini, JYJ sedang bertarung dengan SM. Dan SM berusaha menghancurkan karir JYJ dengan segala cara termasuk mem-block penampilan JYJ di Korea. Tidak hanya itu, SM juga berusaha mengulur-ulur waktu persidangan agar kasus JYJ tidak selesai. Hal ini sangat merugikan JYJ karena waktu promosi yang terbatas, biaya yang semakin besar, reputasi yang buruk, etc. Untuk itu, bagi semua penggemar dan pendukung JYJ, silahkan bergabung dengan petisi tersebut.  Semakin banyak yang bergabung, akan semakin baik. Namun, mohon tidak menggunakan alamat email atau identitas palsu karena petisi ini bersifat formal dan akan diajukan ke pengadilan di Korea. Not too long ago, the Korean Entertainment Producers Association (KEPA) revealed that it would write and circulate a petition to be submitted to the Korean court in order to influence the outcome of the JYJ v. SM Entertainment (SM) litigation in SM’s favor and against JYJ. KEPA also claimed that JYJ was lying to the public on the issue of their unfair contract with SM. When this news became public, many international fans of JYJ and the original Dong Bang Shin Ki urged us to launch a petition on behalf of international fans to counter KEPA’s and to voice support for Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. In answer to your requests, the Petition for the Recognition and Protection of JYJ’s Legal and Human Rights is finally here and on the cusp of being launched. THE PETITION WILL OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR SIGNATURES ON FEB. 3, 2011, 1:00pm (KST) AND WILL CLOSE ON FEB. 15. The petition is also available in Japanese, Chinese, French, Vietnamese, Spanish and Thai.

Tak terasa sudah puluhan tahun berlalu sejak saya datang ke dunia (maap yah agak sedikit mellow ^^). Dalam kurun waktu tersebut, saya tidak merasakan adanya sesuatu yang istimewa dalam hidup saya. Setiap hari saya menjalani rutinitas seperti layaknya orang lainnya. Pada waktu kecil, saya ingin segera menjadi orang dewasa, namun begitu dewasa, saya ingin kembali ke masa kecil. Hipokrit ? Hehe ^^. I'm just a human, after all ^^

Bila direnungkan sejak kecil hingga sekarang, banyak peristiwa yang telah terjadi dalam hidup saya. Banyak peristiwa yang menyenangkan, namun banyak pula peristiwa yang menyedihkan. Dilihat sekilas semua seolah terjadi begitu saja. Hari berganti hari, bulan berganti bulan, dan tahun berganti tahun. Tidak ada yang istimewa. Benar-benar hanya pola kehidupan manusia yang biasa-biasa saja. Pilihan hidup ? Hehe ^^. Namun, bila saya mengevaluasi kembali semua yang telah terjadi, saya dapat merasakan adanya benang merah dari semua peristiwa yang terjadi dalam hidup saya. Seolah-olah semua telah diatur sedemikian rupa sehingga membentuk diri saya yang sekarang. Takdir ? Hehe ^^. I'm just a human, after all ^^

Namun, apapun itu, saya merasa sangat bersyukur dengan apa yang telah terjadi selama ini dalam hidup saya. Tidak dapat dipungkiri, ada saatnya saya merasakan penyesalan yang sangat dalam dan ingin mengulang kembali kehidupan saya. Bagi saya, apa yang sudah berlalu biarlah berlalu. Tidak peduli sebaik atau seburuk apapun kondisi saya sekarang, saya tetaplah orang yang sama yang telah berjuang dalam hidup ini. Dan saya, berterima kasih untuk itu. Bila orang ingin menertawakan jalan hidup saya, mereka boleh tertawa. Tapi inilah saya. So, di hari yang special ini, saya ingin mengucapkan banyak terima kasih dan maaf terhadap diri saya  sendiri dan orang-orang di sekitar saya yang telah mendukung saya selama ini. Semoga ke depannya, saya dapat menjadi manusia yang lebih baik lagi. Wish all the best for everyone ^^
